Quote Vehicle & Options: Vehicle — Vehicle Pricing
Vehicle selection and options configuration on quotes
Vehicle Pricing
Preferred Dealer
You can select a "Preferred Dealer" for the quote. This is useful if you already have a dealer quote or just want to source pricing from one dealership. The "Preferred Dealer" contact details will be used when sending a Request for Quote. The "Preferred Dealer" lookup displays only suppliers who are marked as Dealership in the "Supplier Type" field of the Suppliers / Account screen. When a dealer is selected, their state is checked against the quote state and a validation message appears if they are not the same. Once saved, the "Preferred Dealer" code is a hyperlink to the dealer's supplier record. If a quote is Accepted, the "Preferred Dealer" is copied across to the contract as the "Supplier". The "Preferred Dealer" can be set-up to be a mandatory field which is checked when you Accept the quote. To do this, set gb_control qt.preferreddealermandatory to 'yes'.
Comments
Special comments regarding dealership instructions or pricing etc. may be entered here.
Delivery Type
Choose from 'Country', 'Metro' or 'Semi Metro'. A change here will trigger an update to the "Dealer Delivery Fee".
Master Lock
The master lock toggles all pricing locks on and off. Once checked, the associated lock values will not change except in the following situations:
The Variant is changed: this will turn all the pricing locks off and their associated values will be recalculate.
The Delivery State is changed: the Purchase Stamp Duty Lock will be turned off and its value will be recalculated.
Discount Status
Each client may have a discount level associated with them per vehicle manufacturer. Each variant may have discount levels and amounts attached to them. Thus if a client is set to "National" discount for a particular client and manufacturer then the system will retrieve the relevant discount amount. This logic also applies to Fleet Discounts and Confidential Rebates. Bonuses and Dealer discounts are applicable to all clients. See each Discount field below for the details of how calculations and values are stored in the database.
List Price
Populates the List Price of the selected vehicle. This can be edited.
Fleet Discount %
Enter a percentage into this field to add a calculated fleet discount amount. You can enter a discount amount instead and this field will then display the calculated discount percentage. The field will accept and display values to 2 decimal places. The calculation for this is ROUND((discountamount / listpricenet) * 100, 2). This is an editable field and can be made read-only by adding role restriction records. An Audit History record is written for this field when Fleet Discount values are being edited, but it is not a stored value.
Fleet Discount
Values for this discount are stored in qtvariantdiscounts by discount type. If you want to hold discounts at a client level, they are stored in qtclientmakediscounts by discount type, client and make.
Confidential Rebate
These are stored in qtvariantrebates by clientid. The field can be renamed.
Dealer Rebate
Enter an amount here to record a dealer rebate. There are no system calculations or defaults on this field. This field is read-only by default. To make the field editable, or to hide it completely, contact Catch-e Support who can update the role restrictions for you. The field can also be renamed.
Bonus
These are stored in qtvariantbonuses by bonustype.
Dealer Discount
These are stored in qtvariantdealerdiscounts. The supplierid (dealership) and clientid are optional in this table. If a preferred dealer is selected, any associated discount in this table for this variant will be used. If a client code and variant are selected and there is a matching preferred dealer in the qtvariantdealerdiscounts table and the location states match, then the system will pre-select the preferred dealer and discount amount.
The following business rules are used when calculating dealer discounts:
Changing the State code or Client Code on the Quotes / Contract tab will lookup the Preferred Dealer from the qtvariantdealerdiscounts table using the variantid, clientid and state at the current quotedate. It will then look up the discount for that supplier from the qtvariantdealerdiscounts table and recalculate the values for dealerdiscountnet and related fields. If there is no Preferred Dealer found then the field on the Quotes / Vehicle tab will be set to blank and the discount used to calculate dealerdiscountnet set to zero.
Changing the Variant on Vehicle page will lookup the Preferred Dealer as before, but if no Preferred Dealer is found, the existing Preferred Dealer will be left unchanged.
Changing Preferred Dealer from either the input field itself or from the search pop-up, will lookup the discount for that supplier from qtvariantdealerdiscounts and recalculate the values for dealerdiscountnet and related fields. If the supplier has no entry in qtvariantdealerdiscounts a zero discount will be returned.
Changing Preferred Dealer from either the input field itself or from the search pop-up, will give a warning if the new Preferred Dealer is in a different state (using the gb_suppliers state field) to the Delivery State.
Margin
Profit margin on the vehicle sale. This is not calculated by the system. The user needs to enter this amount if applicable. This field can be renamed and can be hidden if not required (see Role Restrictions).
Dealer Delivery Fee
If the "Delivery Type" is 'Country', the country value will be applied, otherwise the metro fee is used. The values are stored in gb_control qt.countrydeliveryfee or qt.metrodeliveryfee.
Luxury Car Tax
This amount is calculated if New or Used = 'New', but can be edited if required. For further information on the calculation, go to the Luxury Car Tax page.
Initial CTP
This is a calculated value that is stored by state. It can be edited. For New Zealand systems, "GST" is calculated as "Exc GST" * 1.15. This field can be renamed.
Initial Registration
This is a calculated value that is stored by state. It can be edited.
Premium Plate
This is not calculated by the system. The user needs to enter this amount if applicable. This amount is retained if the user changes the variant and needs to be set to zero if required when changing variants.
Purc. Stamp Duty
Purchase Stamp Duty (which can also be applicable to license transfers) is calculated by state based on the calculations advised by the relevant statutory body. Purchase Stamp Duty amount is set to zero if Clients / Quote Defaults "Purchase Duty Exempt?" is checked. Visit the Purchase Stamp Duty page for samples of each state's calculation. This field can be renamed.
Purc. Stamp Duty Lock
When the purchase stamp duty lock is checked, the system will not recalculate purchase stamp duty unless any of the following fields are altered:
Effective Date
Delivery State
Variant
FBT Value
The Fringe Benefits Tax value is the total on road price (including GST) less Initial CTP and Initial Registration and PSD. This value may be over-ridden, e.g. if quoting a lease extension where the FBT value does not match the pricing information. Note: if the Quotes / Contract "FBT Type" = 'Operating', the FBT value is calculated as the annualised lease cost including GST. If the Quotes / Contract "FBT Type" = 'Statutory', any optional equipment that have the 'FBT exempt' flag set will be omitted from the FBT value calculated. FBT Value Calculation can be used to check the FBT Value calculated. This field may be updated via the Refresh Base Rate or RefreshQuoteBaseRate feature.
FBT Type
This field is read-only and cannot be edited. The value defaults in using the entry in Employer FBT Type from the Quotes / Contact screen.
FBT Treatment Type
This field defaults to 'Standard' when a quote is first being raised. When a variant has been selected, this field will be updated to show 'EV Exempt - Reportable' if:
The variant's "Vehicle Type" is FBT exempt
The vehicle's Base Price is below the LCT threshold
The quote's "Luxury Car Tax" is '0.00'
If the vehicle is 'Used' or 'Demonstrator' then "Date First Held" must be greater than '30/06/2022'
"Luxury Car Tax Paid" must be 'No'
If "Date First Held" and "Luxury Car Tax Paid" have not been populated, "FBT Treatment Type" will revert to 'Standard'. You can update this field directly to show 'EV Exempt - Reportable' if required, but your changes will not be saved if the conditions above are not met.
Date First Held
This field is disabled unless:
"New or Used" is either 'Used' or 'Demonstrator'
"Luxury Car Tax" is '0.00'
"FBT Treatment Type" is 'EV Exempt Reportable'
The "FBT Treatment Type" of 'EV Exempt Reportable' will only be saved if this date is greater than or equal to '01/07/2022' and "Luxury Car Tax Paid" is set as 'No'. On Save, you will be alerted when these conditions are not met and the "FBT Treatment Type" will revert to 'Standard'.
Luxury Car Tax Paid
This field is disabled unless:
"New or Used" value is either 'Used' or 'Demonstrator'
"Luxury Car Tax" is '0.00'
"FBT Treatment Type" is 'EV Exempt Reportable'
The 'Yes' button is checked automatically when the "Luxury Car Tax" field has a value. If the "Luxury Car Tax" value is removed, this field is enabled and you must select either 'Yes' or 'No'.
FBT Value Lock
When the FBT value lock is checked, the "FBT Value" will remain fixed regardless of changes to lease rates or vehicle pricing. If the variant is changed, "FBT Value" will re-calculate and this lock will be un-checked automatically. Note: Un-check this lock before changing the "FBT Type" between 'Statutory' and 'Operating' because the "FBT Value" must be re-calculated.
