Add a New Card Directly from a Contract

Overview

Users can now create a new fuel card directly from an eligible contract without needing to copy or remember the Contract ID. This streamlines the card creation process and reduces navigation steps when setting up cards for a contract.

When the "Add Card" Link Appears

The Add Card link is displayed on the Contract screen when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The contract is associated with a posting class code of F (Fuel).

  • The Contract Type is:

    • Accruals, or

    • Expenses - Approvals

  • No card is currently linked to the contract.

  • The contract is being viewed in read-only/view mode.

How It Works

  1. Open an eligible contract.

  2. If no card is linked, an Add Card hyperlink is displayed.

  3. Select Add Card.

  4. Catch-e opens the Fleet → Card Services → Cards screen in Create mode.

  5. The Contract ID is automatically populated.

  6. The cursor is positioned in the Supplier Code field, allowing you to continue creating the card immediately.

Expected Behaviour

Eligible Contract With No Card

  • The Add Card link is displayed.

  • Selecting the link opens the Card creation screen.

  • The Contract ID is pre-populated.

Card Already Linked

  • The existing card hyperlink continues to display.

  • The Add Card link is not shown.

Ineligible Contract Types

  • The Add Card link is not displayed.

Contract in Edit Mode

  • The Add Card link is not displayed while the contract is being edited.
