Requesting a budget change
How a driver asks for a change to a category budget from Adjust limits, and where the request goes.
Adjust limits lets a driver ask you to change their category budgets. It is a request, not a change: the banner at the top tells the driver that you will review it and confirm.
The screen
- Each category shows the current figure for the driver's pay cycle (a weekly, fortnightly or monthly cap), with minus and plus buttons, and the annual budget beneath.
- Top up works out what the driver needs from their spending and fills in the figures for them.
- Net effect shows the estimated change to the driver's pay as the figures change, so they understand the consequence before they ask. It needs the driver's salary on file; without it, it reads "Needs your salary on file".
Sending the request
The driver confirms in a dialog with Submit request, or chooses Keep editing to go back. The request:
- is sent to the Budget increase requests email address set in Settings,
- appears on the lease in the portal under Budget change requests, with the category, the amount asked for, the current amount and how long ago it was sent, and
- is decided by your team in Catch-e.
The app shows the new budget on its next refresh after the change is made in Catch-e.
Limits
- How often. The portal sets how often a driver may send a request: weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Monthly is the default. A driver who has already sent one sees "You've already sent a request for this vehicle. To change your limits sooner, contact your provider."
- Only allow increases in budget changes. When this is on for the brand in Settings, the minus buttons are not shown. It is off by default.
- No signal. The app says it is offline and sends nothing. The request is not kept to send later.
