Item Summary Figures on the Employee Package Item Screen

Overview

The Item Summary section of the Employee Package Item screen shows three running totals for an item — Life Budget, Life Disbursements and Variance — giving you a whole-of-life view of what has been budgeted, what has actually been paid, and the difference between the two.

What the Figures Include

  • Life Budget, Life Disbursements and Variance are all calculated including GST, shown under a "Total Inc. GST" label in place of the previous "Net" label.

  • Life Disbursements counts only settled transactions:

    • transactions that are Posted, or

    • transactions held as History Only.

  • Transactions that have not yet been posted are not included in Life Disbursements.

  • Transactions dated after the current month end are not yet included in Life Disbursements, even once settled — this is an existing, ongoing limitation that this change does not remove.

  • This applies to every Item with a linked Contract — including direct-link vehicle items and Benefit Item - Car Items. An Item with no linked Contract is unaffected and continues to show $0.00 for all three figures.

How It Works

  1. Open an Employee Package Item.

  2. The Item Summary section displays Life Budget, Life Disbursements and Variance for the item, inclusive of GST.

  3. Life Disbursements reflects the sum of all Posted and History Only transactions for the item.

  4. Variance shows the difference between Life Budget and Life Disbursements.

Expected Behaviour

Item With Only Posted Transactions

  • Life Disbursements reflects the full posted amount, including GST.

Item With History Only Transactions

  • Transactions held as History Only are included in Life Disbursements, where previously they were not.

Item With Unposted (Pending) Transactions

  • Unposted transactions are excluded from Life Disbursements until they are posted.

Transactions Dated After the Current Month End

  • These are not yet reflected in Life Disbursements, even if otherwise settled.

Item Whose Linked Contract Has No Billing Rows

  • Life Budget displays $0.00, the same as before this change.

Item Whose Linked Contract's Billing Rows Total Zero Excluding GST, But Carry GST

  • Life Budget will now show a small non-zero amount (the GST component), where it previously showed $0.00. This is expected — it is not a defect.
