Claims and notifications

Notifications in the app

The notifications inbox, the five notification types and how drivers control them.

The inbox

Reached from the bell on Home. Items are grouped under Today and Earlier, and each carries an unread dot until read. Mark all read clears them. Each item is tagged with the vehicle it relates to, so a driver with two leases can tell them apart. Tapping an item opens it in full, with its action button where one was attached.

Items include:

  • a claim approved or declined
  • funds received
  • a budget category tracking over
  • service and registration reminders
  • a new statement
  • messages and requests your organisation sends from the portal

Step 3 of account setup lists them. The driver changes them under Profile > Preferences. The driver profile in the portal shows which types each driver has on.

What the switches do

Every driver a message is sent to gets it in this list, whatever their switches. A switch only decides whether the message is also pushed to the phone. While notifications are turned off for the app in the phone's settings, the switches are locked.

The lock screen

A push shows only a fixed line for its type, for example "There's an update on your claim." The details are inside the app, behind sign-in.

Push notifications and the inbox

Push delivery depends on the phone's permission, which the phone asks for when the driver continues from the notifications step of account setup, and again if they set the app up on a new phone. The inbox inside the app works either way.
