Brands, channels and employers

How a driver's brand is decided, what is set separately for each brand, when a brand is live, and how to move drivers between brands.

A brand is everything a driver sees that identifies your organisation: the logos, colours, name, support details, documents, legal terms and feature settings. Most providers have one brand. Some operate several, and the portal supports that.

Where a brand comes from

A brand in the app corresponds to a channel in Catch-e. Employers (client records) are assigned to a channel in Catch-e, and every driver who works for that employer inherits it. The portal reads the list of channels from Catch-e; it does not create or edit them. The Drivers list shows each driver's brand beneath their employer.

Drivers whose employer has no brand of its own see the Default brand.

On Branding, Content, Legal and Settings a brand selector appears at the top of the screen, and everything below it applies only to the brand selected. A provider with a single brand works with that one brand throughout.

When a brand is live

A brand other than Default is live once its Branding, Content, Legal and Settings are all published and complete. Until then its drivers see the Default brand. The brand selector shows Live or how many of the four areas are complete, and the status card on Settings shows which are still needed.

If a change would leave a live brand incomplete, the portal warns you first; confirming takes the brand off live and its drivers switch to Default. Default is always live.

Drivers with more than one lease

A driver with two leases under employers on different channels belongs to two brands. When they switch vehicle in the app, the app changes its branding to match the vehicle chosen.

Moving a driver to another brand

Because a driver's brand comes from their employer, you move the employer, and you do that in Catch-e.

  1. In Catch-e, open the employer record the driver belongs to.
  2. Change the channel on the record.
  3. Wait for the next synchronisation. Every driver under that employer moves to the new brand.

There is nothing to change in the portal.
