Logging an odometer reading
How a driver logs a reading, how readings are checked, and how your team can ask for one.
Logging a reading
- The driver opens Log km on Home, or Log reading on Drive.
- Log odometer starts at the last reading. The driver types a new figure or steps it up and down.
- Save reading writes the reading to Catch-e with the date.
Readings are typed in; there is no photograph.
A reading the same as the last is marked Same as your last reading. A reading lower than the last, or a big jump, asks the driver to check it ("That reading looks low" or "That is a big jump"). They can correct it or choose Save it anyway.
Beneath the button, Readings you have logged lists recent readings with the kilometres since the previous one.
No signal
A reading saved without signal is kept on the phone and sent automatically once the phone is back online. Home shows how many items are waiting.
Reading history
Every logged reading, newest first, with the date and the increase since the previous reading. Readings recorded at a service centre and entered in Catch-e also appear. In the portal, the Odometer tab of the driver profile audit log shows each reading with its source.
Asking a driver for a reading
Your team can ask an individual driver for a reading with Request odometer on the driver profile in the portal. The driver receives a notification asking for a reading of a particular vehicle; tapping it opens Log odometer for that vehicle, even if they were looking at a different one. It is an ordinary notification: it does not stay on Home, and the driver can clear it like any other.
